BLI International, a division of Baton Labs Inc., has been in business since 1997, selling the PriorityStart! battery protection system. Originally located in Los Angeles, California, our company relocated to Spokane, Washington, in 2006.

BLI has been and is a regular participant in trade shows within the utility, law enforcement, and government fields. Such past shows include SEMA, Police Fleet Expo, GFX (Government Fleet Expo & Conference), and the EUFMC (Electric Utility Fleet Managers Conference).

Thousands of fleets and companies use our products each year, including Verizon Wireless, Comcast, Time Warner Cable, U-Haul, Adrian Steel, Cox Communications, Bell Canada, Best Buy (Fleet), and Leggett & Platt, as well as thousands of municipalities around the world. BLI has also been featured on ABC, including Good Morning America, as well as on CBS and TNN. In addition, we have been featured in Popular Mechanics, Motor Trend, Hot Rod, the Los Angeles Times, and Chicago's Daily Herald. BLI was a "New Product" award winner at SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association), and was voted one of the "Top Ten Products of the Year" by Motor Trend and by Sport Truck Utility.


Edgar A. Hirzel - Vice President, Engineering

Mr. Hirzel has a B.S. in Mathematics and Physics from Kent State University and is the holder of 23 US patents, as well as the co-inventor for six additional patents. His patents for anti-skid and automatic braking systems have been applied on overd 118 commercial airlines worldwide and in such well-known applications as space shuttles and Air Force One. The derivative (anti-lock) of anti-skid (the braking system and system patents held by Mr. Hirzel) is being used commercially on automobiles.

Larry E. Hayslett - President & CEO

Mr. Hayslett has a B.S. in Business and Business Administration from California State University in Northridge, California. He has more than 15 years of experience in procurement and coordinating with production and engineering. In addition, he has more than 10 years of experience in marketing and sales, having been the Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Hydrabaths Inc.™, a manufacturer of Whirlpool™ bathtub products. During his time at Hydrabaths, annual revenue grew from $300,000.00 to $26,000,000.00. From 1968 to 1974, Mr. Hayslett was involved in negotiations for Lockheed Martin™ involving commercial airlines, the L1011 passenger door system, the avionics system, and other major negotiations.
